C22 WYC Fall Regatta

The fall regatta is a one day regatta where we try to get as many races as possible in which one of the races counts toward the last race series.  The balance of the races are used to fill in the races missed during the season because of cancelled races.

WYC had a great turnout of 31 boats in the four classes.

It was just Chris and I.

Winds were 8-12 knots from the  WNW, so we went out with full racing main and #1.

We had the boat moving really well all day.
There were 5 boats in our class.

In the first race, we had a bad start, and finished 4th across the line and 4th in corrected time two minutes behind the leader and 46 seconds out of 3rd.

Race One

The second race, we nailed the start, and were fourth across the line and in corrected time.

Race Two

The wind had shifted more to the north, so the course was changed from 3 short to 2 short.
The winds had also picked up, so we swapped the #1 for the #2.
Perfect amount of sail.

Race Three and Four

Broken record: fourth across the line and in elapsed time in the next two races.

We place fourth overall for the regatta.

Sailing Selfie

I have probably 5 pairs of sailing gloves on little Still Time.  All of them are falling apart, so after racing I decided to sacrifice the gloves I wore in the race.
