CS34 Lindsay/McDonald Islands

After about an hour in Beaurivage, we found that the anchorage was not very protected.  The winds were howling and the waves were moving us all around.  I looked at the wind forecast, and it was not to drop until the morning.  Sea Beyond's anchor started dragging, so four boats decided to hoist anchor and go to the other side of the Beaurivage Island to between Lindsay and McDonald Islands that is a little more protected.

When we went to hoist anchor, I saw a bunch of weeds on it, so I knocked them off with a boat hook, and then I noticed that the anchor was hooked on a 3/4" power cable between the islands and hauled it to the surface.  I dropped the anchor slightly, and freed the cable with the boat hook.  Later I looked in the charts, and sure enough they clearly showed a submerged electrical cable!

In this image, Gannanoque is about 4 miles NE of us.

MUCH BETTER!
It was much calmer over there.  Was about a 400 yard dingy ride for the dog.  There were probably about a dozen sailboats anchored here also.  We could see Gananoque Cruise Ships going by:

We slept really well that night!
