We put first put the genoa on. To my surprise, IT HAS A FOAM LUFF!!!
We then hoisted the main, putting the battens in, hooked up the reefing lines, and mast gate, and ran all lines back under the coach deck through organizers, and rope clutches. Dave commented how much easier the main hoist and drop is with the McLube in the sail track. Lastley, we put on the sail cover.
We then lifted the floor boards in the salon. With a bit of preparation: rags around thru hull and wetvac handy, Dave pulled the speed transducer and I jammed in the blank. Only half a quart of water came in. We took the shaft of the speed log out and it was all gummed up. The paddle looked in good shape. We gave it a good cleaning and spun it with our fingers, and the instrument worked! We quickly pulled the plug and replaced the transducer. After a quick vacuum, we put the floor boards back down.
We checked the heat exchanger coolant level (it was fine), and Dave showed me how to clean the diesel filter.
We had a beer in the club house. Thanks Dave, it was a pleasure dealing with you.
I loaded the car with the remaining aluminum cover frame pieces and the four mast saw horses.
