CS34 Sunday Sail and Anchor

After a quick trip to the grocery store, we set out around noon.

Winds were from the SE about 7 knots.  Got the full main and genoa out and set the autopilot to sail 90 degrees off the wind.  On a beam, minimal heal, very comfortable sailing.  We sailed 7 miles out into the lake.  Looking at the track, it was interesting how the autopilot followed the winds as they shifted slightly more east.  Winds picked up to about 12 knots and we were doing over 6 knots of boat speed.

Tacked towards Pickering and had another beam reach in.

We anchored in 8ft of water about 80ft from shore.

We could see the waterfront trail that runs from Pickering Nuclear Generating Station to the Ajax waterfront.
Rita and I used to walk along there during our lunches and after work.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz
After a couple of hours, the dog had to pee and we did not bring the dinghy so we hoisted anchor and motored back to Whitby.

What a great day!
