CS34 Whitby to Cobourg

We were going to leave Friday night and anchor around Bowmanville/Newcastle to break up the trip. However, the wind from the west 10-15 knots would make anchoring very lumpy, so we decided to leave early Saturday morning.  We left around 8am.

Coming out the harbour there was 4 knots of breeze from the south west, but there were left over rollers that caused the boat the pitch uncomfortably.  We thought about not going it was that bad.  We stuck it out and it calmed down after St Marys Cement in Bowmanville.

With just 4 knots of wind and the lumpy waves, we didn't even bother with the sails.

Between Darlington Nuclear Plant and Newcastle, we had to dodge several salmon fishing boats.  We counted a couple of dozen of them.

Passing Newcastle, we radio some Newcastle boat out for a race.

Arrived Cobourg around 1pm.

Since we didn't have lunch, it off to the Ribfest for a Bloomin Onion:

On the docks was another CS34 from CFB Trenton called Greensleeves:

First CS34 I have seen in green and with a full enclosure.
