Went to Home Depot to pickup some PVC schedule 40 pipes to replace the ones that were missing.
The mast was stripped and supported with a 2x4 that mounts in the gungeons.
The PVC pipes ($5 each) were tie wrapped to various places on the deck:
- rear cleats
- jib turning cars
- jib cars
- chainplates
Next I slid the old shrink wrap over the mast and frame:
Sealed the front and back with some extra shrink wrap and tape.
May order some replacements in the off season from Catalina Direct ($40US + shipping).
Probably paint the topsides as the gelcoat is worn thin.
We had gusts to 50+ knots.
This is the fourth year that I am getting out of this shrink wrap!
The Catalina 22 logos on the coamings are a little hurtin:
Probably paint the topsides as the gelcoat is worn thin.
Want to make her all spiffied up and put here on the market in the spring.
UPDATE: wind storm came through last night:
Recycled shrinkwrap didn't budge!
