ACE Shrinkwrap Door

Two months after the fact, we got a door installed on the stern of ACE (with the help of Jenny and Peter).

I had to get on the boat to measure the footholds and mockup the new chart plotters.

We also added some shrinkwrap to the stern to fix parts that had been ripped by the wind.

Just completed Leg 3 - Abu Dhabi to Sanya

Not bad with over 170k people playing the game.

Would have done better, but ran aground twice (once for over 6 hours!)

Time Out II?

The dinghy for Still Time is called Time Out.  The 2HP Honda motor is great for taking Bogart the wonderdog for a pee when cruising.

C22 Shrunk

Peter and Jenny helped me get little Still Time shrink wrapped.

Perfect day, no wind, +5C

ACE Shrunk

Met in the AM for breakfast at the local Egg Smart.

It was a balmy -8C, but it warmed up during the day.

Mike and Jenny went to Home Depot to pickup some 2x3s, PVC conduit, and screws.

We build a backbone out of the 2x3s and attached the PVC conduit to the stantions with tie wraps.

We got the shrink wrap up and attached to the hull using thin rope.

End result is pretty good:

We still have to add a door and do one more round with the heat gun to get rid of the remaining wrinkles.

Total cost to shrink wrap the 36ft boat was about $200.
