Rita and I had her birthday off.
We went to the downtown Buttermilk Café for a lovely breakfast.
We cast off at 10:15am.
Winds were light from the NE 2-4 knots. We tried to motor sail, but there wasn't enough wind to make any speed difference, and our apparent wind was collapsing the sails. We just motored along at 7 knots.
When we got near Newcastle, the wind had swung around to the south (on the beam) and picked up to 10-12 knots. Out with the sails and off with the motor! It was nice to be sailing along at 6 knots all the way to Whitby.
Pulling into our slip at 4:30pm, we noticed how much hotter is was on land. We decided to anchor offshore by the clubhouse, and cook dinner and relax.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA!!!
