Annapolis Boat Show Day 1

The hotel was a dump, very run down, with an uncomfortable bed.  Right near the highway, so if you opened the window, all you heard was traffic.  You could see the Chesapeake Bay however.  Lots of marinas around.

Woke up without an alarm AGAIN.

We were on the road at 7am to get to the parking lot and into the show at 8am.  Catalina is hosting a Canadian Breakfast.  Got us into the show 2 hours before the public; all we had to do is show our passports.

America's Sailing Capital

We met several sailors from Canada at the breakfast.

In the morning, we toured most of the sailboats.  Favourite was the Gozzard 41, although the larger Tartans and Beneteaus were nice.  The Blue Jacket 40 was a head turner.

Really liked the new Catalina 275, the C&C 101, and the J/88 (all race boats):

I felt like Igor from the Halarious House of Frankenstein:  Can I keep em, Dr PetVet?

We toured most of the vendor tents, and purchased:
  • Stern Perch Seats
  • Cockpit table and drink holder (made out of starboard)
  • Garhaurer blocks
  • Collapsible salad spinner (can't believe I am writing this!)
Later we toured downtown Annapolis; nice town.

We had dinner with Dave and Nicki; crab cakes were awesome.

It was a long, full, fun day!
