On Saturday, got the stanchions off the boat; they will goto Peter Karadi for straightening and welding on Monday.
Was able to clean up the sail drive, and removing any flaking fairing on the keel.
Completely sanded the bottom with 220 grid paper, and power washed the entire hull/bottom.
Had to use a sump pump to get water out of the lake the feed the gas powered beast.
George with the Beneteau 36.7 beside had some scaffholding delivered, so I took the opportunity to clean and compound the hull. Poor ACE, in the 3 year we have had here, she has never been compounded and/or waxed because we also were rushed to get her in the water.
Much easier with the scaffholding then going up and down a ladder, 3,000 TIMES!
On Sunday it was 15 degrees and sunny, so I was able to finish the hull before George needed the scaffholding before moving on to the bottom paint.
She looks great:
The keel is not done because we have to fix some fairing that had cracked:
Some watertight epoxy fairing in the next couple of days.
Still need to:
- fair the keel crack
- paint the keel
- install the zincs
- paint under the pads
- de-winterize the motor
- clean and wax the hull
