Winds from the SW 8-13 knots with lots of waves that built all the way from Niagara.
We went out with full racing main and #1 genoa for power in the waves.
We were ready to switch to the #2 if we were overpowered.
Course was 4 medium.
We moved the cars back to spill wind at the top of the sail, and sheeted out for power in the waves.
It worked well!
We had a great start and were trucking along on port tack, when a puff rounded us up and forced a tack. Actually it was a good move and got us to the windmark right with the others.
Before 2nd upwind leg to the finish we saw lots of boat that sailed into a wind hole off to the right, so we tacked to the left to stay away from that.
We had a great race finishing a minute behind Firebird, but beat them in corrected time by over 3 minutes for first place!
