CS34 Remove Scupper Hoses

Spring has Sprung!
The weather had broken and it was +3 degree Celcius.  I had picked up some butyl glazing tape from a local glass supplier.  However, there was a north wind blowing making is very chilly to do work on mounting the new gudgeons on little Still Time.

Got on big Still Time, and she was warm and toasty under the cover, with an electric heater going.

Had to empty everything out of the starboard locker.  Man I too much stuff in there!

The starboard scupper hoses came off fairly easily, except for where it attached to the through hull; I was afraid I was going to break the through hull taking it off.  Moved onto the more difficult port side scuppers.  What an effort to get over there!  Just enough room under the sugar scoop transom to squeeze myself over to it.

Getting the hoses off, I pulled on the scupper hose and the through hull fitting broke off!

The hose is cracked and very brittle

Previous owner had tried to fix the leak with duct tape!

Here you can see the broken barb on the through hull!
Looking to replace the hoses and through hulls on both sides.  Hopefully find some more flexible hoses.

It is no wonder I had water in the bilge when on a port tack.  The scupper through hull would be under water when heeled and water was leaking through the cracks in the hose.

Its a big job, but needed to be done.  The back area is filthy, probably never been cleaned because the access is so difficult.
