CS34 Moonlight Cruise

Whitby Yacht Club hosts moonlight cruises on the Friday nights before a full moon.

The full moon is actually Sunday night.
The moon rose at 6:40pm.
The sun set at 8:30pm.
The moon meridian was at 11:44pm

Rita and I headed out before 9pm.

WYC had close to 20 boats.

Winds were light at about 5 knots, but I put the sails out anyways and motor sailed along at around 3 knots enjoying the flat water, warm temperatures, and bright moonlight.  It was almost like daylight out there!

We went out the Ajax Weather Buoy (6 miles) and back.

Once Around in the moonlight

Almost a full moon

AWESOME night on the water.

Trip Odometer: 12.40 miles
Moving Average: 4.0 knots
Moving Time: 03:04:00
