Melissa, John, Chris, and I.
Pulling out of our slip, I noticed a LARGE clump of weeds on the rudder
We took them off with a mop, and did a backup under motor to get any weeds off of the keel.
Winds were very light around the start time, so the race committee delayed for 15 minutes, and to everyone's delight, the winds filled into about 7 knots from the south.
Course was 7 short.
Racing main and #1.
We had a great pin end start on starboard tack in clear air
We were fourth to the windward mark, and gained on them in the downwind leg.
In the next reaching leg, we were gaining on our fleet, but the wind started dying.
On the final upwind leg, the wind died a lot, and we were being blanketed by bigger boats finishing
We finished 5th across the line (5 minutes behind the leader), but 4th in corrected time.
Nice that your sailing gloves match your T-Shirt Chris! |
