CS34 Head Troubles ROUND THREE

In the past week, the rebuilt head on big Still Time has been leaking like a sieve when pumping water from the lake.  I took the pump apart, and everything seem to be in working order.

We are heading to Toronto for four days with Chris an Meryl on the weekend and need a head that doesn't leak 2 cups of water on the floor during each use!

I went to Nat's Marine and purchase a new Jabsco Manual head to replace it.  Got it for a good deal because I took his floor model and he wanted to clear it out.

The replacement took about 30 minutes to put in.

Clean

NO LEAKS

However, it is very hard to pump.

Under the sink to right of the head is the lake water intake valve with a strainer on it.

At the bottom of the photo you can see the through hull and shut off valve where the lake water for the head come in.  In the top you can see the strainer called "PUMPSAVER".  Ignore the broken chrome shower head and hose.

The strainer was partially clogged with seaweed

Almost enough for a salad!
Working good now!
