CS34 Collins Bay - Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

The plan was to stay in Collins Bay for 3 nights, as Yvan and Kim had to rent car to head back for a wedding on Friday night.  Cost for three nights in a slip was $120 (one night free).

Collins Bay is a good refuge in bad weather.
It is a half hour sail/motor from Lake Ontario.
The bay is naturally protected.
The grocery store is a mile away.
Pride Marine accross the bay; actually you could take your dingy!
The ice, pump out, and fuel dock are handy.
The washrooms/showers were clean.
There is a really nice public park with a dog walk.

We did enjoy our stay, however, it is VERY noisy.

Kingston airport's main runway has planes landing and taking off just over your mast!

Every 5 or 10 minutes a train would lumber accross the bay blaring its long long short long whistle!  Most of the trains were high speed VIA passenger trains.

Accross the bay is the very busy Bath Rd Loyalyst Parkway Hwy#33.

Next time we go east, we are going to try other places.
