Trent Port to Prinyer's Cove.
Trent Port is a great place to stop and wait out the storm.
The squall watch on our phones and VHF did not materialize, but there were confirmed tornadoes just 20 miles north of us. We saw all the nastiness pass us to the north.
Washroom and showers are awesome!
They have a weed eating machine at the dock just down from us:
Filled the water tanks.
We had half a tank of diesel, so we decided to head to the fuel dock.
We left the fuel dock a little after 10am:
$126 for a fill and got a pump out just in case.
The boat behind us here was a Bavaria 38 Cruiser from ABYC.
Same boat that was beside us at our slip.
Same boat that was beside us at our slip.
We got a tour of the boat; very nicely layed out!
Rita loved it.

See ya later Trent Port! |
We motor sailed down the Bay of Quinte with a reefed main, as there was only 5or6 knots of wind directly behind us. Motoring faster that the speed of the wind made the headsail useless.
We went under the bridge at Belleville:
Past the bridge, through the narrows, around Forester's Island, and down long reach.
What I discovered is that we had lost the nut on that keeps the boom vang on.
With a reef main, the reefing lines had pulled the bolt holding the blocks.

Photo after the fix |
The boom vang was disconnected at the mast, and he had to shake the reef out.
The double block in the above photo had pulled the bolt right out.
We could not reef the main sail.
Winds were building to like 8-12knots with gusts over 20.
Down Long Reach, the wind also moved forward, so we furled in the headsail and motor sailed down the reach dumping the main in the puffs.

Approaching Aldophus Reach and the Glenora Ferry |
Once we got down near the turn to Aldophus reach, we poled out the jib to windward, and TURNED the motor off.
We had 15 miles of fast quiet comfortable downwind sailing to Prinyer's Cove:
We took the last mooring ball at Prinyer's Cove:
Took us about 15 minutes to get it in the water so Shadow could pee:
