Before going to bed, we looked at the forecast for tomorrow; winds from the south 14 knots with gusts to 28m around 11am. The trip from Cobourg to Brighton is always tough, and usually gets really wavy through that long boaring stretch. We decided to leave at first light do complete this part of the trip before the winds/waves built up.
It would mean we would get to Brighton Bay around 9am.
Alarm went off at 5am.
Peed the dog, and we left the dock at 5:20am.
Winds were on 2-3 knots from the south.
Motor sailed with a reefed main the entire way.

We left early because:
Red sky in the morning... |
Coming into Brighton Bay:
Are we there yet? |
Saw an osprey nest complete with babies on a channel marker:
Brighton bridge closing behind us:
We looked at the weather radar app on our phones, and we were going to get whacked with major rains and winds. Got "Squall Watch" warnings on the VHF.
We had planned to head to Sandy Cove past Belleville (another 12 miles) to anchor, but decided to duck into TrentPort marina to wait it out until tomorrow.
