CS34 2020 Cruise East Day 06 - Kingston

Slept in until 9am, don't even remember what we had for breakfast.

We didn't sleep too well, as the end of the dock where we were is exposed to the wakes of all the boat traffic, especially the ferrys.  The boat would rock back and forth with every ferry's wake, that ran until 2am.

We had run out of propane on the primary 10lb tank for the stove.
Had switched to the 5lb backup.
John had offered to pickup the 10lb tank in the morning and get it fill for me.
Thanks John, that worked out well.

By 10am, we were walking into downtown

Here is Still Time from the land:

Under the tree

There was a race at KYC around Simcoe Island (not much wind) and all the raceboats were going out past Still Time.

MUMM 30 called "Long Time Running"

We shopped Princess Street downtown Kingston.

One of my favourite stores here is the Vandervoort General Store on Princess Street.
They have a well stocked marine section on the second floor.
To my dismay, they are closing their doors and will be replaced with condos.
25% off everything in the store (including the marine department).
We picked a cooking pot for the boat, along with some VC17 bottom paint, and several tubes of marine sealant.

The Farmer's Market in Market Square was in full swing, and we bough some corn and local veggies for the boat.

We walked over to the LCBO and the Food Basics for some groceries, then UBERed it back to KYC.

We had a reservation with John and Wendy for a waterfront patio called  AquaTerra, part of the Delta hotel on the Kingston waterfront.

The race boats were coming in from today's race, and I videoed this IMX 38 coming in that sailing friend Jim McGuinness sold last year.

We UBERed over to their condo and took in the views of Confederation Basin from the 10th floor balcony:

Pretty Sweet

Took this shot when Wendy and I took the dogs for a walk:

Yellow is their balcony
You can see someone waving to us

We left the dogs in the condo and headed to the restaurant.

AquaTerra is a great place to eat.
Rita and I have had some nice dinners there over the years.
In this time of Covid, the tables were outside, spaced well apart.
The menu was limited and cooked in an outdoor kitchen adjacent the tables.
Very nice.

What a great meal.

We got the doggies and went for some desert:

John was nice enough to drive us back to the boat.

Another great day in one of our favourite cities!
