Rita and I spend most of Sunday and to Monday getting the boat ready to leave on Tuesday morning.
Rita did a grocery shop and stocked the fridge and freezer.
My car did a right turn at the LCBO.
Also did the domestic tasks like cutting the grass and bringing plants to friends.
We arranged for someone to cut the grass while we are gone.
Some other tasks:
- deflate the dingy and lash it to the deck
- mount dinghy motor on rail
- gas for the dingy
- dingy safety kit
- dog food
- clean the black streaks off the side of the hull
- waterproof flashlights and headlamps
- check propane
- fill water tanks
- clean interior
- bring stand up paddle board in rear bedroom
- get toolkit together
- bring additional fenders and dock lines
We will inflate the dingy when we get to our first anchorage.
Very easy to do with the battery powered inflator that I have.
Also works on the inflatable paddle boards.
I later lashed to stainless handrails.
I spent some time getting some 2" #10 panhead machine screws to secure the stanchions.
When I replaced the lifelines a couple of years ago I never got around to putting fasteners in the base, and sometimes a stanchion would pop out of its base.
I check the fluid levels, all good. The diesel tank is 2/3 full. I am not going to fill up until we get to Kingston. This way we use up the old diesel in the tank.
This afternoon we got our clothes together.
We will pack the boat tonight and sleep on her.
Tomorrow morning we will head out after a quick pumpout hopefully at the crack of 8!
Winds are forecasted for 8-10 knots from the SW, so a nice easy spinnaker run to Cobourg.
We will use this time to clean the decks and organize below and the cockpit lockers.
