MacIntosh Food Provisioning

In previous years, doing the Marblehead to Halifax Race (four times) and the Route Halifax St Pierre on MacIntosh for 6-8 guys was a big deal.  We would be dependent on the local grocery stores and usually involved CARTS of groceries.

...and you can't have enough chips!

Luca has a friend in Detroit who runs a catering business.  Lisa is also a sailor.

She specializes in prepared frozen vacuum sealed meals for sailors.

Here is the list she can up with for the 8 of us:

She accommodated all our dietary requests.

The breakfast burritos were a hit!  They were pre cooked, wrapped in tin foil.  Just warmed them up in the oven.

The sandwiches were prepared, wrapped in tin foil, then packed in ziplock bags.
A separate bag had fresh fixings like lettuce, tomatoes, and onion (the things that get soggy).

The dinners we also precooked and vacuum sealed and frozen solid.
Just boil some water on the stove, pop them in for like a minute, and have instant, hot, delicious, and nutritious meals!

Luca and Derek packed the 70lb of food in old suitcases packed with dry ice as checked bags for their flight.  We donated the old suitcases to charity in Newport.

Plus the price was very reasonable.
